Soldo. Pinot Grigio. 2006 for just $8.99 - Beat the early summer heat with this tangy Italian white. Light, crisp and citrusy, the green tint reflects the taste of ripening green apples. A refreshing tartness also evokes grapefruit and lime. On the silky finish, pick up traces of smoky pear and apricot. Ideal for sipping as an aperitif or with shellfish and other bracing seafood dishes.
Vina del Val. Ribera del Duero. 2005 for just $11.99 - The illustrious Yllera family is secretive about the composition of many of its wines, but is renowned for elegant reds with a modern and sophisticated touch. This bottle is no exception with intense aromas of red berry fruit and blooming violets, followed by fresh, rich layers of raspberry and black plum on the palate. A solid structure and long finish make it an ideal partner for grilled meats and strong cheeses.

This crisp, dry white from the cool, sunny continental climate of central Spain's Rueda region offers clean, snappy herbal and fruit flavors. Blended from native Viura, Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, this wine reveals traces of zesty tangerine, mint leaf, and kiwi. A long aftertaste helps it stand on its own or add zip to cheese and crackers.
Monterra. Monterey. Cabernet Sauvignon. 2004 for just $9.99 - A deep ruby wine with intense blueberry and blackberry aromas and full ripe forward fruit flavors. Pick of the week. Benton Lane. Oregon. Pinot Noir. 2005 for just $24.99 - This wine is a gorgeous blend of seven Pinot Noir clones grown in the Southern Willamette Valley. Always highly ranked in the Wine Spectator, this light and delicate vintage has vibrant fresh cherry flavors and a lean, silky texture. Aromas of dark chocolate and ripe strawberry lead to a suppleness of mixed berry tastes with a clean finish harboring traces of white pepper, cola and fresh mushroom.
